Career

Building the conditions for good teaching.

Fourteen years across British and IB international schools, spent moving from the classroom into the work of lifting whole teams — coaching teachers, shaping curriculum, and helping schools grow into their best version of themselves.

Advanced Skills Teacher — Teaching & Learning

GEMS Founders' School · Associate Senior Leadership

My days sit at the meeting point of coaching, curriculum and quality. I lead professional learning for Primary teachers, working alongside them to sharpen instruction, strengthen middle leadership, and make decisions that are grounded in evidence rather than instinct.

Much of the work is quiet and cumulative: coaching teachers through observation and feedback, building the tools that let leaders see teaching quality clearly, and helping middle leaders take real ownership of their subjects — several of whom have since stepped up into leadership roles of their own. I contribute to the school's self-evaluation and improvement planning against the KHDA framework, and represent teaching and learning through inspection.

I also lead our CamSTAR Cambridge research programme across my own school, drawing teachers into evidence-informed practice — the part of the job that most reflects how I think about learning: always live, always testable. At cluster level I collaborate with the leaders who run it in their own schools, making sure ours has a real seat at that table.

Head of Year 3

GEMS Founders' School

Leading a large year-group team taught me that culture is the real curriculum. I focused on consistency — in delivery, in behaviour for learning, in the promises we made to families — and on using progress data to set ambitious targets and act on them early. The year group moved from strength to greater strength over my time leading it, and the parent partnership grew into something built on genuine trust.

Head of English — Key Stage 2

GEMS Founders' School

I led English across a Key Stage during a period of rapid growth, redesigning curriculum pathways to strengthen reading and writing, and building the assessment systems that let us find gaps and close them. I designed and delivered literacy professional development across a large teaching team, and — when the world moved online — carried English teaching through remote learning without losing engagement or momentum.

PYP Homeroom Teacher — Year 4/5

Fazlani L'Academie Globale · IB Primary Years Programme

Where it began. I designed transdisciplinary, inquiry-driven units aligned to IB standards, and led the PYP Exhibition — mentoring both students and staff through it. The inquiry mindset I built here still shapes how I approach everything: start with a good question, and follow it honestly.
